Starting out as reddish-brown, the leaves of the Macadamia tree quickly turn into a deep, glossy green. Since this tree is an evergreen, you’ll get to enjoy the fresh colors, even in the dead of winter.
The leaves are fairly long with toothed margins.

2 Beaumont trees Miloh family planted 3 years ago both grow quite fast!
麥寶家人3年前種了兩株 Beaumont 是光殼與粗殼澳洲堅果的配種
Beaumont is a hybrid cultivar of Macadamia integrifolia and M. tetraphylla. It has bright pink blooms that appear on long racemes with vibrant, reddish leaves. This cultivar also has grape-like clusters that can end up snapping branchlets. The macadamia nuts don’t drop once they’re ripe, but this cultivar produces nuts that are easier to crack.

The Valentine Pummelo is the combination of a Pummelo, a mandarin and a blood orange.

The Valentine pummelo acquired its name in part because it ripens around Valentine’s day in Riverside, California, where it was bred and evaluated.
情人節蜜柚 名字來自於 它在加州大學 河濱分部 也是配種孕育出這柚子的地方 ，會在情人節時 成熟。

When ripe, the Valentine also resembles a heart when cut open.

The rind is moderately easy to peel when fruits are mature. ‘Valentine’ combines large size and low acidity from its pummelo parent, complex, floral taste from ‘Dancy,’ and juicy red pulp from ‘Ruby.’ [1]

‘Valentine’ reaches complete pigmentation in February when the solids:acid ratio is an average of 16:1. A ratio of this level produces an extremely sweet and delicious fruit.[1]

With purple tops, the part of the tuber that grows below ground is white, while the upper part that sticks out of the ground is purple.
Turnip lovers cherish these deliciously sweet and tender white roots. the root may grow as large as 6″ in diameter. But flavor is best when harvested around 3-4″ wide.

Turnips have a crisp white flesh and a zesty mustard-like flavor with raw turnips. The flavor intensity will decrease somewhat during cooking.
The greens, which are also edible, grow from the purple part. Leaves have the best flavor when pick them while still young or pickling salt the mature leaves.

They do offer so many craft beers for you to choose and taste. Miloh mom tried to pick 3 beers from the day’s list. She doesn’t like IPA at all , so it’s easier to pick something just not IPA or not even to mention the Double IPA .

then pour the water in . this is the tip our neighbor gave us. don’t even need to mix the concrete with water first; this way is more secure and efficient.
然後再灌水；隔壁鄰居教我們不需要先用水混水泥。 直接這樣灌水 反而更容易簡單又更堅固

while Waiting for pond liner to be delivered, the 80-W pump arrived.
網購的 80 瓦 抽水馬達送到家了 ，然後趁周末有空 全家去選了石頭。
went to shop and pick up some landscaping stone and rock during weekend, later they delivered to home.
put the Firestone 45 Mil EPDM 20 x 20 feet pond liner on top of underlayment to protect pond liner.
45 mil stands for the thickness of the liner material. It is 45/1000 of an inch thick. That may not sound like a lot but this super sturdy liner is the choice of professional pond installers and consumers all over the world.
backyard ponds suggest to choose from a 30 mil or greater liner to prevent rocks and roots from wearing holes in a thinner material.

how big the pond liner you need ? you can use the online pond liner calculation to calculate how big you need.
For this pond we dig, we set up more area for shallow pond. The 5 feet deep area is not too wide. so 20 x20 pond liner we ordered, it actually make a 14 x 16 pond for us. pretty good.

water fall pump set up. Put the pump at the end of pond, connection the pump to a trash can with pipe.
take a closer look what’s inside the black trash can
using lava stone as filter。 This is a very cost effective way to create a water fall effect. you can buy the pre-built one if you don’t want to do this by yourself.

set up a pond skimmer to collect leaves and debris —
put the pump completely inside the bucket. And then drilled some new holes in the side . Drilled a big hole on top of the bucket cover, so the water pipe can go through it.
Whole family enjoy the pond every day. Miloh too ~~

Miloh family level flat a small tree area, put up a high chair and table set there. Friend gave the family a nice wind chime, it just perfectly fit there.
Luckily the deepest pond area is about 5 feet deep so that koi fish can hide there safely. we hope.

We add in a purple tropical water lily after the heron visited to cover more area for fish to hide. the lily seems really happy at our pond, it blooms one after one flower.

在池塘附近的低處，無西曬日照，加了一個兩人坐的搖椅。 可以由低處看池塘和前院的全景。

Rose water is created by distilling rose petals with steam.
材料 what you need ：
新鮮玫瑰花瓣 Rose petals 礦泉水/蒸餾水 Spring water or distilled water
兩層的蒸鍋 2 layer steamer
步驟 Steps:
將玫瑰花的莖和葉都拔掉，只留一下花瓣
Start by removing the petals from the roses， only use petals.
在上層蒸鍋中間位置放一隻耐熱的玻璃器皿
place a mason jar or glass container in the middle.
花瓣平均放置於周圍，碗不要壓住玫瑰
spread rose petals around the mason jar.
蒸鍋下層加入約半鍋水，開始加熱
Add in water in the lower pot, start to boil the water.
水滾後，就可以將蒸鍋上層放上，反轉鍋蓋蓋好，目的是讓在鍋蓋上的水蒸氣冷卻後流回到碗裡
Once the water boiling, put the upper layer on top of the boiling water. Turn the lid upside down so the steam water can drip into the jar.
將火力調到中小，剛好能保持水滾狀態即可
Turn the heat to median.
在反轉的鍋蓋放上冰塊
put some ice cubes on top of the lid to help and speed up to collect the steam water.
冰塊全溶化時就換新的冰塊，保持蓋面低溫
About 30 – 45 minutes, turn off heat.
小心不要煮乾下層水份，約 30 – 45 分鐘後就可以關火
會看到玫瑰花瓣褪色轉黃，而碗裡的就是玫瑰花水
you will see the rose petals turn yellowish. The water in the jar is the Rose Water ！
下層的蒸水 會變黃色，不要丟棄，可以拿去洗澡
The lower layer pot, water turn yellow. you can use it as bath .
冷卻後將碗內的玫瑰花水放入想要的容器保存
The small steamer set only collect about 1 oz rose water, so Miloh mom take a 5 quart steamer set. same way to collect rose water.
用小小蒸鍋 只收了一點點玫瑰水。
麥寳娘親就拿 5 Quart 的蒸鍋，同樣的方法蒸餾玫瑰水
Bigger pot..more petals.
This time.. yes! collect around 4oz rose water ~~
這次蒸餾出 4oz 的 玫瑰水~~
很精華蒸餾出來的透明~~.👍 Crystal clear rose water !
If you don’t have 2 layer steamer set, you can take a pot, put the jar in the middle. then spread petals around jar. pour water just enough to cover the petals.
