檸檬黃瓜/黄金甲 Lemon Cucumber

檸檬小黃瓜是檸檬? 還是小黃瓜? 因為形狀和大小類似檸檬,所以,被稱作檸檬黃瓜.表皮上带點小小的黑刺,大概就是黄金甲名字的来源。

種瓜得瓜..但種櫛瓜得黃瓜!麥寶家這幾年來菜園都長這瓜.不知哪來的.因為長得很不討喜  所以沒想到要摘來吃.直到有朋友家 也長了這瓜.也吃了…麥寶娘親 決定拿來做料理囉~~

Lemon Cucumbers are lemon-shaped cucumbers with a yellow skin.

Introduced into America in 1894 by the Crosman Seed Company, possibly from Russia.

They may look like lemons, but they taste just like cucumbers.  That’s because they are cucumbers – lemon cucumbers.

檸檬黃瓜是新興蔬菜,外皮有著檸檬色澤的黃瓜,不只外觀特別,味道還比一般小黃瓜更清爽,而且更具甜味,不會苦,可供生食或炒食,是沙拉菜餚的不可或缺的新夥伴,即使不愛吃小黃瓜都會一吃愛上,好吃好栽培。

Despite their name and looks, they have no lemon flavour. The flavour is very mild and almost sweet.

Don’t be fooled by this heirloom’s unusual shape-these bright yellow balls are excellent for salads and pickling. They have a clean, crisp taste and are never bitter. Normal-sized vines yield heavily and for a long time.

繁殖可採播種法,日照需良好,性喜溫暖、濕潤環境,不耐寒,在排水良好、疏鬆、肥沃土壤中生長良好。

Prolific plants are easy to grow and seem to need less heat to ripen than some cucumbers, making this a good choice for cooler climates. It is also less apt to develop bitterness.

看似小黑刺的外皮,只要用毛巾輕抹,再洗乾淨,即可食用當然削皮也無妨。

The young cucumbers have little prickly spikes on the skin, which start to dull and fall away as the fruit matures.

Lemon Cucumbers can be eaten sliced in salads or on their own, pickled or eaten out of hand like a fruit.

或 炒肉片 好脆,甜.比吃大黃瓜還好吃!

They can also be stuffed.

 

檸檬黄瓜盅

刮去黑刺洗净,切去顶蓋,挖掉内瓤,

魚肉和猪肉馅加小葱和鹽調好,塞進瓜内,

蓋上顶蓋,

上籠大火蒸10~15分钟,美味的檸檬黄瓜盅就做成了,瓜盅内的肉馅吸收了檸檬黄瓜的清香,味道十分别致鲜美,大受家人歡迎。Steam for 10 to 15 mins.

古早味蔥燒餅 蔥薄餅 Onion biscuits , Flat bread

蔥太多! 就來做些 燒餅 薄餅加 蔥!

So many green onion in the veggie garden.

將發酵好的麵糰倒出。Dough

取一份麵糰稍微用手拉成長方型,再用撖麵棍撖薄成大長方形。Flat the dough

均勻塗抹上拌好的蔥花內餡 (蔥 加鹽 白胡椒粉 和 油)。Green onion add in salt and oil

捲起來 roll it up

表面上刷上一層水再撒上芝麻後,切成段,排入烤盤。

烤箱預熱至200度C/ 400F 後,送入烤箱烘烤20分鐘至表面金黃。Bake 400F for 20 mins.

烤好的燒餅要移出烤盤放在網架上架高放涼,以免水蒸氣讓燒餅底部潮溼。

煎個蔥花蛋,夾片起士 或 培根 火腿 肉片 就很美味!

烤箱預熱至200度C/ 400F後,送入烤箱烘烤20分鐘至表面金黃。
